The Third Annual Upper Hudson Bluegrass festival was a wonderful event. Many great artists including local favorites Smokie Green, Al & Kathy Bain, Dave Nichols & Spare Change , and Rivergrass all returned from previous festivals. Regionally the return of Acoustic Blue, Past Times and the addition of String Dusters expanded the festivals appeal to bluegrass fans throughout the northeast.
In 2006 festival attendees were treated, for the first time, to a nationally known and renowned band. Goldwing Express preformed two shows on Saturday, before departing to return to Branson , Missouri where they perform regularly when not on the road.
Weather for the 2006 Upper Hudson Bluegrass Festival cooperated with only Sunday being slightly disagreeable. Over 100 folks parked their campers and moter homes for the weekend and the “picking” continued well into the evening and late in the day on Sunday. Raffles, good food, great music and wonderful old and new friends combined to make the 2006 festival an event to be fondly remembered.
